In order to celebrate its 40th year in the industry, Psion Teklogix is offering the iKon PDA / smartphone. The gadget has a 3.7-inch VGA display, an integrated camera, built-in GPS, GSM / GPRS / UMTS connectivity options, Bluetooth, WiFi, a barcode scanner and your choice of Windows Mobile 6 Classic / Professional or CE.net 5. The iKon will be released in December. There is no word on pricing yet.
QuickSilver has created a new phone concept which looks like PacMan. The mobile phone has QVGA display, GPRS and EDGE connectivity, a microSD memory card slot, and a USB port. The idea of this concept is interesting. However, there is no word on when this concept phone will go into mass production.
Samsung i560 is a slider smartphone with an integrated GPS receiver. The phone runs on Symbian S60 and is compatible with 3G and HSDPA (3G+) networks. Other features include a 2.4 inch LCD screen with 320×240 (QVGA) pixel resolution, a superb 3.2 MP digital camera with 16x zoom, Bluetooth 2.0, and 150 MB of internal storage. This sleek cell phone will be available this coming holiday season.
Motorola has recently released the S9 Bluetooth stereo headset in Korea. The headset sports 2.0 Bluetooth wireless technology, stable behind-the-head style, and touch-sensitive controls. The gadget allows you to switch from music to calls with the press of a button. Priced at approx. $108, the S9 is also water and sweat resistant.
Samsung comes back with a new Bluetooth headset. The WEP-430 is specially designed for sports activities. This Bluetooth 2.0 device has two microphones for optimum voice quality and offers echo reduction. The WEP-430 also provides 5 hours of talk time and 110 hours of standby time. No word yet on pricing or availability.
Verizon offers the Samsung Gleam, which is a 3G clamshell with Bluetooth support. The mobile phone has a microSD slot, and a 2MP camera with a Night Shot feature that allows you to take pictures at night without a flash. The handset is currently available for $150 with a 2-year contract.
Here is a first official picture of the highly anticipated ASUS P750 Pocket PC Phone. Asus confirmed that the P750 will be released in Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia before the end of this year. AT&T today unveiled its first Windows Mobile 6-enabled smartphone, the Tilt. Named for its 2.8″ screen, which tilts like a laptop’s when slid up to reveal the handset’s full QWERTY keyboard.
Containing a host of powerful features, the device includes Wi-Fi with 802.11b and g frequencies, a 3-megapixel camera, the highest resolution yet for AT&T, Bluetooth 2.0, support for up to 32Gb microSD memory, and global 3G Capabilities from AT&T’s UMTS/HSDPA-based BroadbandConnect Network.
Palm has decided to go ahead and cater to those people who always wanted one of their phones but couldn’t afford them. Enter Palm’s entry level Smartphone – The Treo 500v, or Centro. The Centro has a QWERTY keypad and a TFT Touchscreen 65k color display with a 320 x 320 pixel resolution.
